Kathryn Bone

Hi everyone! My name is Kathryn Bone, or as most of the kids know me- Ms.Kat. I graduated Regent University with my degree in Elementary Education.

I love working with children and have been doing it most of my life. I used to coach cheerleading and basketball at my church back home in California. I also worked in a daycare facility and was a librarian at a school.

I believe that it is so important to give children a good education and to make sure they are prepared. I love that Discover Learning Center is Christ-based and allows the children to learn more about God.

​

As a teacher, I love doing morning meetings with the students where we talk about the plans for the day and get to know each other a little better. I feel that this helps us to grow closer as a class. I also believe in focusing on the positive behaviors and highlighting that in the classroom.

​

My favorite Bible verse is Genesis 50:20, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done.”

​

A fun fact about me is that I come from a family of teachers- my mom, aunt, and cousins are all teacher

​

We keep our private kindergarten class small here at Discover Learning Center. This allows me to give one on one attention to each child daily.

​

As a private kindergarten we can work at our own pace, this allows us to make sure every lesson is understood before we move on. The curriculum we use is strongly phonics based which allows the children to become strong confident readers.
