Why can't my child read? A Children who haven't learned to read or are struggling with reading;  1. May have missed phonics skills.  2. Have missed skills due to family relocating to different school district.  3. May be experiencing Central Auditory Processing problems.  4. May be Dyslexic.  5. Could have an undiagnosed vision problem.  Discover - an Educational Workshop, LLC, will work to correct this. Q If my child tries harder to read, will he/she catch up? A Not without help. Learning to read is like building a house. You can't build walls on a sandy foundation. Your house will always be weak. You must first have a strong foundation. At Discover - an Educational Workshop, LLC, we will find the missing skills and then help your child rebuild to be a stronger reader. Q How can Discover - an Educational Workshop, LLC help my child? A The first step is to identify your child's reading level and comprehension. During this assessment, the tester will test for warning signs of Central Auditory Processing problems and Dyslexia. Q Will the learning center test my child's vision? A No. The learning center staff will watch for possible vision warning signs while working with your child. If it is suspected that there could be a problem, the information will be given to you. Working with your child's classroom teacher, your observations, and the information the learning center provides, you can contact a vision specialist for further information and/or testing.  WRITING Q My son can't write a report. Can the learning center help him? A Yes. We have an exciting interactive Writing program. Your son will learn the proper form for writing.  MATH Q In elementary school my child always got A's and B's in Math. Now she's in middle school and is failing. What happened? A Your child is not solid in one or more earlier Math skills and it has caught up to her. She will continue to struggle until she is strong in all of the basic Math skills. Q How do I know what skill(s) she is missing? A A Math Skills Assessment will be given at the learning center to identify weak and missing skills. A program will then be designed to teach your child. Q But she has to keep up with her math assignments in class. Won't she get behind? A No. Her teacher at the learning center will also provide homework support.                 FAQs
